Sandra Chiles
Managing Director - FRCSA
Sandra started the first specialist travel recruitment agency in Australia in 1981 after enjoying a successful career in both Retail Travel Consultancy and Agency Management. Commencing as Interim Travel Personnel in 1981 her company has continued to grow over this time and is now known as inPlace Recruitment.
Sandra holds formal qualifications in Recruitment Consultancy and is a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Travel and Tourism. Sandra is a prominent and respected member of the Travel and Tourism Industry and is a fountain of recruitment knowledge. She established the first client forum to address the critical skills shortage in the industry, culminating in the development of the Travel Industry Careers Association (TICA). When she's not running the business she loves to go fishing - She once caught a 10kg Taylor in Botany Bay... or so she says!
Ben Carnegie
Business Manager - APRCSA
Ben specialises in the recruitment of a broad range of roles within Travel, Tourism, Hospitality & Event Management and is highly successful in the placement of Executive level positions. As Business Manager Ben also oversees our Account Management Team.
A graduate of the International College of Management, Ben has over 15 years experience working in 5 star hotels and the MICE industry and has worked on some of Australia's biggest events, including the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Ben joined inPlace Recruitment in 2008 bringing to his role a strong network of industry colleagues. Ben has travelled and worked his way through Europe and in his spare time enjoys playing golf, swimming at the beach and camping in the great outdoors.
Kristi Gomm
Senior Account Manager - MRCSA
Kristi has been a member of the inPlace Recruitment team since 2001. Kristi has established excellent relationships with our clients and she brings a wealth of recruitment knowledge and experience to her role as well as over 15 years travel industry experience.
She has been a Sales Executive for Newmans and Ski Express and she has also worked for Queensland Travel and other diverse roles in the retail, corporate and sales sectors. Kristi holds several recruitment qualifications as well as a Diploma in Tourism Management. Kristi has a passion for travel, having lived and worked in the Whitsunday's, London and Canada. In her spare time, Kristi enjoys the beach, snowboarding, camping and spending time with her family.
Kelly Wellsmore
Senior Account Manager
Kelly made the move into recruitment in 2006 after enjoying a successful career in both retail and wholesale travel, which culminated in her managing a large team for Australia's biggest wholesaler. She holds the Recruitment & Consulting Services Association Certifcate in Recruitment and Selection.
An enthusiast of snowboarding for over 15 years, Kelly has travelled throughout Asia, the South Pacific and Europe and has lived in the UK twice. Kelly's love of cooking - her favourite cuisine is Italian - led her to work for an award winning restaurant on Bondi Beach as an apprentice chef. Kelly is now our resident chef, her speciality dish being slow roasted pork belly. She is also known around the office for her contagious laugh and 'wicked' sense of humour.
Peter Jackson
Senior Account Manager - MRCSA
Peter is the newest member of the inPlace Recruitment team and our hospitality recruitment specialist. He joins us with over 8 years' experience in hospitality recruitment and has an extensive network of clients and candidates within the industry.
Recruiting for all areas of hospitality Peter focuses on developing long term relationships and partnering with his clients and candidates to ensure their business needs and career goals are achieved. Peter holds a Diploma of Hospitality and with over 12 years experience working within hotels and the catering sector he has the knowledge and ability to identify quality talent. In his spare time Peter enjoys spending time with his family and surfing on the Northern Beaches.
Liz Vibert
Senior Account Manager - MRCSA
Liz specialises in recruiting for travel & sales. Originally from the sunny Island of Jersey CI, Liz began her career in travel working for an independent travel agency. After working in her home town for a few years Liz decided to pack up her bags and travel the world for a year.
After travelling the world, Liz settled down in London where she worked in Travel Recruitment for over 5 years. Liz joined inPlace Recruitment in July 2007 after leaving London to experience living and working in Sydney Australia. During her spare time Liz enjoys outdoor activities soaking up the great Australian sun with her family and friends.
Marlene Lane
Marketing Manager
Marlene has over 15 years marketing experience as well as Post Graduate marketing qualifications from the University of Technology, Sydney. Before moving into the marketing field, Marlene has worked in the Australian tourism industry for over 12 years.
She held consultancy, sales and management positions with state tourism bodies; Tourism New South Wales and Northern Territory Tourism, as well as consulting roles in the corporate travel arena. Marlene is a member of the Australian Marketing Institute. A mother of two, Marlene is a keen tennis fan and enjoys pilates and long beach walks and is very good at keeping secrets - she organises our annual conference to a surprise destination every year and always keeps us guessing what we will be doing next!
